October to February is ideal: 15-28°C days, crisp nights, and the famous Desert Festival in February. Summer (April-June) is brutal on the dunes — avoid unless you're a hardcore desert fan.
Two Ways to Experience the Dunes
Option 1: Sunset Camel Safari (2-3 hours)
The classic. A camel caravan takes you over the dunes as the sun sets. Slow, romantic, unforgettable. Best combined with a camp stay.
Option 2: Jeep Safari (1-2 hours)
Adrenaline version — dune-bashing through the sand. Great for families with kids and short on time.
