Ranthambore is 180 km from Jaipur — a 3.5-hour drive that makes a perfect 2-day/1-night escape. The park itself surrounds the 10th-century Ranthambore Fort, making it one of the most scenic reserves in India.

Safari Timings & Types
- Two shifts daily: sunrise safari (6-7 AM start) and afternoon safari (2-3 PM start)
- Jeep safari: 6 people, 4-wheel-drive — more flexible, better for photography
- Canter safari: big 20-seater bus — cheaper, shared
The 10 Safari Zones
The park is divided into 10 zones. Zones 1-5 (around the fort and lakes) give the best sightings — your permit allocation is mostly luck of the draw, so book as early as possible in peak season.
